Before we look at what makes Inbound Marketing we need to define what is marketing. In simple terms marketing is the process of satisfying your customers' needs while selling your service or product using suitable promotion or advertising. Marketing can be split between inbound marketing and outbound marketing. Outbound marketing can be seen as pushing your message out hoping that it hits the right person as the appropriate time for them. Whereas inbound marketing should be viewed instead of pushing out your message it is about people finding you, your products and your services.
So what makes Inbound Marketing? It is a about making easy for your target market or audience to find you first. So let's look at what makes Inbound Marketing.
The first thing that makes Inbound Marketing is your blog. Rather than go thought the reasons for a blog here is an example of how a blog works for Inbound Marketing. Yesterday I wrote a blog on "how can social media help my business" because I used several terms and phrases that people search for they can now find us SiliconCloud when they are looking for how can social media help their business. And that is Inbound Marketing.
What else makes Inbound Marketing? Another example of Inbound Marketing is micro blogging or better knowing as Twitter. By tweeting or sharing your content and views you should be able to build up followers who either could reach out to you for help or refer people to you for guidance and help. And too is also Inbound Marketing.
So what makes Inbound Marketing, you can see from those two examples it is about getting your message out there and letting people find you. The great advantage about Inbound Marketing is that your customer or leads find you, which makes them pre-qualified. As they started out looking for you services in the first place. There is no need to sell to these people as they are already looking.
A great example of what makes Inbound Marketing is Google. Google have never sold to me, I went to them. So what can we learn from Google for our business. Well SiliconCloud are running a webinar on what you can learn from Google to grow your business.
