Why people use search engines is why inbound marketing works

Why inbound marketing works can come down to why you and I use search engines. It is simple that people do like to search, regardless of who they are and what they are looking for they all love to search. Today it does appear that Google has won the race and is generally the first search engine that people turn to when searching. The days of flicking through the "yellow pages", "going down to library" or "ask a friend" are long gone as people are going online. And this is why Inbound marking works.
The reason why inbound marketing works is that people want information, and all kinds of information. But people these days want that information at their finger tips and luckily enough Google is there to provide the information and that is why you need inbound marketing. People are looking for different things but they can be broken down into 3 categories:
1: Content - Looking for news articles, forums blogs etc
2: Research - Looking for reviews, product or price comparisons
3: Commerce: - Looking to purchase something
These are the same categories on how you should view your inbound marketing strategy. If you consider what people are typing into Google this can tell you a lot about what they are trying to find and also their mindset. So when creating your website and strategy for inbound marketing, try to think about the person who is searching on Google. What are they looking for, is just information, maybe it is to make a purchase or a simple looking for help. And that is why inbound marketing works.
For Inbound Marketing think about your website and social media as the answers to what people are asking for. A good example is the Meta data in your website, does it answer what people are looking for on Google? So if we do a search for "Irish Broadband" which meta data best answers the question?
"Irish Broadband provides fast broadband internet access to Ireland at a flat rate with no download limits and no hidden extras."
"eircom broadband ireland, email, wifi, weather, travel, ireland, entertainment, ... Classics, Comedy, Drama, Documentary, GayLesbian, Horror, Irish, Manga ..."
Guess which one comes up first on page one of Google!
If you can understand why people are searching then you can use inbound marketing to answer their questions.
