For a while now we have talked about the benefits of Facebook Fan pages and how they can increase traffic to your website and generate revenue for your business. Only recently I did a blog on a coffee show and the success that they achieved from their Facebook fan page. They found that after people had become fans of their facebook fan page they actually increased the number of visits to their coffee shop by 20%. So how many people actually become fans on facebook fan pages, well it appears that more that 10 million people become fans of someone's brand on facebook every day.
This is true that over 10 million people each day become a fan of a brand on facebook. Right now Facebook is the largest social media network with over 400M members globally. As the largest social network Facebook also hosts well over 1 million branded facebook fan pages. And why are these brands recently starting to see the potential? Well in the last few years Facebook's social media reach has increased to the levels that previously were only available through Google. In today's marketing environment brands need to use social media as a means of creating brand awareness, customer service or for PR.
So the question you have to ask yourself is do you have facebook fan page and are you making the most of this social media network? To know if you are making the most of your facebook fan page ask yourself these questions: 1: Is your facebook fan page a resource for others? 2: Do you create content or contests that encourage participation? 3: Does your facebook fan page targeting the right demographic? But remember that before you run out and start launching your facebook fan page this is not traditional marketing. And social media has moved traditional marketing away from a monologue into a dialogue, so be prepared to listen also.
