Social Media is all about change and updating. A quick view on how Social Media has changed over the last 24 months could be seen as the movement between Facebook (daily updates) to Twitter (live updates) and now on to Foursquare (geo location updates). So how do you make the most of Foursquare?
For Social Media Foursquare could be viewed as the new kid on the block. But for 2010 it has already shown impressive growth with over 725K used by the start of Q2 201o and with more than 22 million "check-ins". So who do you make the most of Foursquare?
Foursquare Tip 1: As with all social media networks, it needs friends and people to join. So join but make sure that your business is listed. And not only listed but it has all the right information.
Foursquare Tip 2: Reward your Mayor. A cool marketing idea is to have a special offer for the current mayor of your business. The mayor is the person that has checked in at our business or location more than anyone else. Only recently Domino's Pizza in the UK has started to reward their Mayors with free pizza.
Foursquare Tip 3: As with all social media it should from only part of your strategy. Therefore use the integration ability with Twitter and Facebook. Already many users of Foursquare automatically send their updates or check ins to Twitter and Facebook. So when why not use Twitter to promote your business by tweeting a special offer only for Foursquare users. I have already seen such example like a discount for the next person to check in using Foursquare at your business location.
Foursquare Tip 4: Remember the location tips, update the tips about special offers or current promotions that are ongoing.
These are just some tip on how to make the most of Foursquare. If you are looking for more advice on how to make the most of social media, check out our internet marketing webinars.
