Facebook Ads - 9 Tips You Need To Know!

Facebook AdsAre you aware that 200 million people log onto Facebook every day?  Can you afford not to have your business represented with a Facebook Ad on the premise that your potential customers aren't on Facebook?

Build a Facebook page and spend a reasonable amount of money on some Facebook advertising.  The cost-per-click is significantly lower than Google Ad words and if nothing else, you're building brand awareness. What do you have to lose? For an average of 14 minutes a day and approximately 7 hours per month you could be exposing your company to hundreds of thousands of people who didn't even know your business existed.

If you do decide to run some Facebook Ads, here are 10 tips for you to be conscious of:

1. Know the Facebook advertising rules! Your Facebook Ad must be real - no gimmicks like "get rich quick" or being extremely repetitive. Facebook reviews the ads and will reject them if they don't adhere to their guidelines.

2. Be authentic! Make sure your Facebook Ad is something you'd want to see yourself. If you're too pushy or annoying, Facebook will stop showing your ads. Facebook is popular because it meets the needs of the people. This means if I don't like your Facebook Ad, I can reject seeing it on my profile and provide feedback as to why I didn't like it. Enough people do this and your Facebook Ad will not be shown again. So make your ad something worth seeing and believing.

3. One image only! Facebook allows you to have an image. Use it to your advantage - because you are limited in the amount of text on your Facebook Ad, why not have text within your attractive image?

4. Know your Target Audience! You have the ability in to target your Facebook Ads to very specific audiences - location, age, gender, profession, skill set - why not take advantage of this and drive your Facebook Ads to a specific target markets?

5. Cost-per-click or cost-per impression? What's the point of your Facebook Ad- brand awareness or lead generation? That will determine which type of Ad you want to run.

6. Set a budget and advertise accordingly. Facebook Ads average $1 a day for both cost-per-click (1 cent minimum) and cost-per-impression (2 cent minimum).

7. Take advantage of the tools available to you. Facebook provides a bid estimator to help you determine the amount of exposure your Facebook Ad will get you. Once you've entered your target criteria, the bid estimator will compare you to other Ads in the same category.

8. Make the content worth it. Facebook provides a 25 character limit for the title and 135 characters for the content - make it worth your while, entice your users, and make it compelling.

9. Measure! Measure! Measure! Facebook provides you with who has seen your ad and who clicked on your ad - modify based on this information.
