When Not to Blog for inbound marketing

Yesterday I wrote about how often you should blog for inbound marketing but what about when you should decide not to blog? There are so many webpage’s dedicated to why and when to blog, and I am sure that SiliconCloud also have a few pages. So here is a blog on when you should just put the keyboard down and not blog?
Blogging Tip 1: Do not blog when you are under time pressure. Blogging takes time and can’t be rushed. There are many steps to blogging, first writing the blog, proof reading it, adding links, finding images and finally sharing it on social media sites. These are all things that take time. So when you are rushed mistakes will happen. A great strategy for blogging is to make it part of your routine. Have an allocated time each day where you do nothing but focus on your blog.
Blogging Tip 2: If you have nothing to add to the conversion. No one likes re-runs of the same conversion again and again. So if you feel you can’t add value then move on and find something else to blog about where you can add value. People go to the movies to see something new, the same goes for your website and blogs. People will not come back when they feel you are publishing low quality posts with no value-add. If you are in this position wait and hold off until a topic comes up that gets your attention.
Blogging Tip 3: when you are just too personal and by that I mean when you’re having a bad day. We all get those days when nothing is going your way and blogging just does not work when you are having one of those days. If it’s one of those days, just let it be and come back to it another time or another day.
These are just my ideas as when not to blog. But the real test is after you have written your blog, ask yourself would you read it. And if not then do not blog...
