There’s been a lot of talk about landing pages but if you’re new to the concept then you are probably wondering what the buzz is all about. Basically a landing page is the page that appears when a potential customer clicks on an advertisement or from other sources. In inbound marketing terms a landing page is also known as lead capture page which sums up its purpose pretty neatly.
Your landing page is the first page that your visitors will see. Your landing page’s objective should therefore be to keep potential customers engaged and close them in under a minute. If users don’t find or see what they are looking for quickly they’ll simply go to another page, frustrated that yours didn’t provide them with what they needed; they may never return to your site either.

Landing pages are usually less cluttered than the standard homepage. This is because a user will have clicked on it because they specifically wanted to see the information on that website. By making your landing pages focused and relevant you get a happy visitor to your site who got what they came for. If you can combine this with some shrewd SEO methods to encourage people to stay on your site for longer, then you are onto a winning formula.
SEO Landing Page Tips 
1. Provide a clear call to action.
2. Make sure your headline refers directly to the place from which your visitor came or the ad copy that drove the click.
3. Try to write your landing page in the second person.
4. Deliver a clear, persuasive message. Don’t try to showcase your creativity or ability to be witty.
5. If your copy is long it has to be tight.
6. Keep your most important points at the beginning of paragraphs and bullets.
7. People read beginnings and ends before they read middles so keep these punchy.
8. Limit your first paragraph to no more than 1-2 lines.
9. Write to the screen.
