Posted by Patrick Murphy on Tue, Jan 11, 2011
Blogging, we all agree, is informative and we learn a lot from other peoples blogs, and it is fun. For those just starting out in the blogging world might find it a little confusing, so a couple of tips in the right direction could help.
Blogging words
Words to remember when you are setting up your blog:
- Interesting
- Informative
- Respectable
- Humorous
Blogging Audience
If you are looking for an audience and want to retain a following, you need to consider those four words and a few simple suggestions.
- People want to read interesting, not boring stories or incidents.
- They would like helpful hints on simple everyday things in life.
- Read the experiences of others and find things in common.
- Publicize your business and your discovery of a new product or an idea you have and want to share.
- Get information and opinions deliver information and opinions; make blogging a part of your daily routine.
Blogging is sharing
Blogging also means sharing, because everything you submit to a blog is there for the world to see once it is published to the internet, and you only want them to see the best of you, so your objective would be to spend some time on the first couple and get them perfectly right the first time. Whether you like it or not, you will be judged by what you put out there. That is you, they can’t see the face behind the lines!
- Check and double-check your spelling and grammar.
- Read and re-read your article, put it away for an hour or two then go back and read it. Does it still have the same power it had the day you wrote it?
- Then publish it – put a counter on your blog that will tell you how many people are interested, how many liked your article and so on. Have a following section where people can follow your blog daily, and last but not least, be accessible to answer questions about your input.
Happy Blogging!
