Social Media - The Down and Dirty

Everyone has heard of Facebook and Twitter, these are popular facets of social media.  Social media is a meeting place for online chats, online communication and open participation.  YouTube and LinkedIn are also considered part of the social media group.  Social media can be entertaining, can introduce you to many topics, share your feelings without becoming embarrassed as you might in a face-to-face communication.   social media

Businesses take full advantage of this aspect of communication.  It offers opportunities for involvement and worldly exchange of ideas.   Social media also includes websites that enjoy video sharing, news and information sources by using decidedly reachable and user-friendly publishing methods.  Social media is an amalgamation of social relations and technology coming together to form an anonymous relationship for the benefit of all.  It has become the centre of online communication and information.  Amazing things have been accomplished since the birth of this type of media.  Partnerships have evolved; people worlds apart have come together expanding single ideas into online community forums and discussions.

Social media allows one to present opinions and ask questions, get results and answers from locations and people you will never meet.  It also allows one to show the world what you have to offer with your photographs, videos, comments and information.   Share exciting discoveries and learn about anything you can think of.  It allows you to educate yourself via online educational systems, or tell the world you are getting married.

The information highway is just that, it permits the expansion of knowledge and sharing.  It can help one find employment, or a long lost friend or relative.  Social media allows you to reach out across the world and attract potential business associates much to your advantage.

There is no turning back, it wasn’t long ago that to contact someone several hundred miles away took several days, using the snail mail system, a system which is leaving mailboxes containing only flyers and newspapers, neither of which will get read but rather placed directly into the recycling bin.  Why would you need to bother with them, when all the information, news and more, is contained in the Social Media network.
