Social Media is the Best Policy

One of the important things about social media is knowing what you’re talking about.  If you have a website and you are trying to sell anything, if the information is wrong, people  will recognize that and go on to the next site.

If you are building a business it is important to be honest, it won’t take long for word to get around.  You see them all the time on Google, being exposed by people advising the site is a fraud, or don’t meet the guarantees or policies they advertise on the site or commute to you via email.  This is a case of ‘Honesty is the best policy’ because professionals and people versed in cruising the internet can read between the lines.

If you have a blog, whether business or personal you should keepsocial media it up to date.  If your blog starts getting popular your popularity will soon go downhill if you start neglecting your daily blogs, if people come back and the same thing is sitting there for weeks, what’s the point?  If you have a business website, add informative news and announce any new product or discovery you have learned about.   Get feedback respond to feedback.  Ask questions, and answer questions.  Communication is an integral part of Social Media

Being involved with social media is physical conversation.  Your fingers are doing the talking for you and they can speak volumes.  At times, everything you ‘say’ shows up on someone’s computer screen.  Choosing the correct tagline, or meta tag, could invite it to land on millions of screens, and if you have something good to say or sell, all those people or at least 50% of them are likely to return.  Each one a potential client, now they are here you must keep them, get their opinion and listen to what they say.  Social media is the biggest thing since sliced bread and email in the computer world, make the most of it, take advantage of its wealth of knowledge and opportunity.
