Facebook new instant personalization
If you haven’t heard of Facebook’s new ‘Instant Personalization,’ you are about to. In the works for a while, it finally came online this week. Its basic function is to allow other sites to have instant access to your Facebook profile page. This means that where the information on your page, might be relevant to their page, they can use it.
Facebook the social media platform
Facebook users may have concerns over the privacy of their personal pages but for businesses with Facebook pages, this is good news all round. It now means that your business Facebook is in effect optimized through Facebook. The social network becomes has added an additional platform where the Facebook business members can be promoted across the globe.
Facebook is niche marketing
The beauty of this service, like all things on Facebook comes down to niche marketing. Just as the whole set up of Facebook is based on the concepts of niche targeting, the ‘Instant Personalization’ adds another layer to people searching for information on specific topics. For example, one of the sites that links to Instant Personalization is TripAdvisor. That means if a customer searches for information on a given destination, your page will come up in the search results on TripAdvisor for that destination.
Facebook growing again
Although businesses might like to think that all their information is exposed, it is possible to control the level of access by changing the page privacy settings. It is only that information which is made available to ‘everyone’ that is linked to Instant Personalization. Some of the sites which have signed up to Instant Personalization so far include Bing, Pandora, Rotten Tomatoes, Clicker, Docs.com, Yelp and Scribd.
