The power of Blogging enough to jump start a jumbo jet

Blogs should have a purpose
There are various ways to approach the task of blogging. In relation to your company’s website, blogs can serve to distinct purposes. The first is specifically related to the SEO status of your site, while the second refers to the opportunity to build a community of readers around your site and its products or services.
Are these two goals mutually exclusive? Yes and no.
Smart companies will find ways to integrate the important keywords into blogs but by the same token, there is little point in writing blogs purely to promote certain keywords. Why? Because they will be badly written and customers will wise up quickly enough that the text the site posts is fairly useless. Whatever information goes on the site blog, it should always be relevant to the readers. In the same way that you wouldn’t expect a golf pro to read a magazine on knitting, the blog must serve a function for its readers.
Mix up your blogs
Where possible the blog should be a mix of keywords and latest news from the company. If the company does not have any newsworthy information to put in the blog, look to the industry for latest developments. Look outside the industry too, to world events and speculate on how they affect the business. Very often, blogs are considered such a tiny part of the business marketing mix, it is very easy to overlook their usefulness. But this is a hugely growing industry and because of the ever-increasing size of the Internet, only those sites with constantly updated fresh copy can maintain their rankings on Google and other search engines.
Don’t be afraid to outsource this task. There are plenty of great writers out there who are using their writing skills to create compelling copy for commercial blogs. So while blogs maybe not be able to jump start a jumbo jet, blogs are a great way to jump start your business.
