So, you have your website set up, you’ve chosen a great CMS, your SEO is tailored and effective, your social media accounts are set up and you have your blog going. You can just leave your website to do it’s thing now, right?
Wrong. Your web presence will require daily maintenance to be successful. Chief among your priorities should be improving engagement with your target audience. You need to be doing something every day that others are interested in and want to learn from. Engage with your community, and get the word out that you are here and ready to talk. Do it right. Learn about your community and potential business presence. Offer tips and advice on things you have expertise with; and include value in your communication. Help others to help you, inspire, and find out what people need and want.
How Do I Engage With My Audience?
Follow through on even the slightest lead, engage and encourage your audience to believe in what you stand for, let them know you appreciate their interest and most definitely their business, and give them good reason to believe in you.
Social Media is key to maintaining great engagement- used properly it will enhance your brand power and will help you become well known. Make sure your web site and social media pages are top notch with the most up to date information about your business, such as what happened an hour ago, not two weeks ago.
Spread yourself around Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the likes- get a presence on every type of social media possible. Remember, using these platforms is generally free and reasonably easy to set up. The only cost to you is time and manpower. Allow your audience to express themselves. Remain confident and don’t listen to that negative talk, turn negatives into positives and develop that position.
