Are you struggling to reign in those leads? Can’t figure out why your marketing plan isn’t coming to fruition? Perhaps you’ve fallen into making some major marketing mistakes without even realizing it! You should be aware of the major factors that will kill off your marketing plan. Luckily, most marketing mistakes can be corrected given some time and effort. Here is a quick run down of 5 online marketing mistakes that we’ve encountered.
Bad Online Marketing Attitude
Your own attitude in your communications will rub off on your prospective customers. If you have a bad attitude about your business, so your target customers will develop a bad attitude about it. Make sure to convey positivity through your email communications, Facebook accounts, and your twitter feed. Make sure to avoid abandoning your blog for weeks on end, make sure to update regularly, and always say positive things.
Bad Online Marketing Targeting
Are you targeting to a demographic or a niche? Make sure you know the difference between the two. Groups of people divided up by age, or by profession, or location are not in a niche. A niche is a group of people who share the same problem, and who you can provide a common solution to.
Marketing to a demographic will get you nowhere, slowly.
Don’t Look Cheap
Your online presence must look like you’ve put time and effort into it- if you couldn’t be bothered to produce a website that is clean, professional, and easy to navigate, your clients will run away.
Letting Your Visitors Away Without Capturing Their Information
Make sure to provide ample incentive for your visitors to hand over their details- for example blog subscriber forms or lead capture forms for downloads. When you have their details, you’ll be able to entice them to come back. A lot of people will intend to come back but will forget, or lose your url. Take action and entice them back yourself.
Make Sure To Plan For The Long Term
Your plan for the next two weeks looks great, but what happens after that? Nothing will put a prospective customer off than seeing a great hive of activity for a short period of time and then no change at all. If you don’t plan, you’ll drift along and will not achieve your goals.
