Creative Twitter Campaigns That Get Us ThinkingEvery so often we come across a really creative social media campaign that we just have to share. These campaigns really show the power of the social media web to get people talking, attract attention to the brand, and increase user engagement.

Ben & Jerrys Create A Buzz With Fair Tweets

This campaign was live from Ben and Jerry’s and was launched in order to raise awareness of fair trade day. The campaign is run through a (very cute) microsite that puts all of your “unused” twitter characters to good use, by using them to make messages that promote this great cause. The whole process is quick and simple- log on to the page, type in your tweet, and the site fills in your unused characters with promotion of Fair Trade Day by Ben & Jerrys. Just hit send and the microsite connects to your Twitter account and posts the tweet. Simple!

This campaign has been so successful because it is very little work from the end user to participate. It is a one-action opt-in, and is also fun, a little different, and definitely gets you thinking. Hats off to the creative types at Ben & Jerrys who realized you should be able to donate your spare characters!

Uniqlo Has A Sale Controlled By Tweets

This was a very creative strategy from Uniqlo- while they were developing their new website, they decided to hold a sale. But this wasn’t your normal idea of a sale- Uniqlo put 10 products from their online store onto their front page, and the more tweets each item received, the lower the price of the item got. This ended up with some items being sold for as much as 50% off.

Coming up with new campaigns is always a challenge, and often requires a “thinking outside the box” kind of approach. Have you come across any campaigns you think deserve a mention? Make sure to comment below with your thoughts!
