Welcome To the Inbound Marketing Party! What’s It All About?

Hey there! Welcome to the Inbound Marketing party! Why not stay awhile and look around? Not sure what Inbound Marketing is all about? Let us explain…
Look at the global economy today. We all know that businesses are being forced to make radical changes. Governments and bailing out banks and so many B2B industries are hemorrhaging jobs. When there was a market crash 8 years ago, we saw the same kind of panic and at that stage a lot of businesses started shifting their budgets to PPC or Search Engine Advertising. The beauty of search engine advertising is that it allows metrics and results to be closely monitored, whereas traditional advertising is a lot harder to measure.
Now that the global market is suffering one of the most major downturns in history, businesses are again looking to the web to save costs while delivering more sales. Search engine advertising is highly expensive compared to Inbound Marketing, and companies are now seeking to shift their budgets to it. The inbound marketing era has well and truly taken hold.
So What Is It?
We tend to refer to the likes of PPC and paid advertising as outbound marketing. That’s focused on finding customers or partners. Outbound marketing approaches people, and is hard to target. The jist is that outbound marketing interrupts people. Think of cold calling, TV adverts, spam mail and pop up advertising. The mass public are moving against such kinds of marketing these days- called ID blocks cold calls, spam filters block mass spam and Sky+ records TV so we can skip the ads. In response to his, new and effective marketing known as Inbound marketing has been born.
In Inbound marketing, instead of interrupting people, we create content that people really want to see and will visit us for. So we may create videos that people want to see, content like blogs and white papers that are useful and people want to read. Inbound marketing creates useful web content that people will enjoy. And if people find your content of use, then they will also already be highly qualified leads for your business.
