Inbound Marketing Terms ExplainedOur final blog in inbound marketing education is about wrapping up campaigns and judging their effectiveness. How can we make sure those qualified leads convert into real sales, and how do we know if our inbound marketing efforts are really working? SiliconCloud has the answers.

Lead Nurturing in Inbound Marketing

The process of following up on new leads and developing a relationship with those leads is known as lead nurturing. You’re hardly going to log all these interested people and then ignore them are you? Because they have given you their details in exchange for your useful information, you now have the ability to contact them. You can nurture those leads all the way own the sales funnel because A) you can contact them, and B) you already know that they’re interested. Lead nurturing may involve direct contact or perhaps providing the lead with more free content over a set period of time. Keeping on top of your leads means you’re fresh in their minds, and the likelihood is increased that they will look to you when making a purchase.

ROI (Return On Investment) in Inbound Marketing

The ROI stands for Return On Investment, and it’s a term a lot of businesses may already be familiar with from other areas. The ROI is a calculation of the money you spent on a particular marketing effort compared to the amount of money earned from it. The ROI is a great metric for value. If you have used €500 to promote a sale, but you only get €250 back, then maybe it’s time to reconsider the campaign. It’s important to consider not only the monetary costs but the costs in terms of time and other resources, and of course the benefits in terms of what you get back. If brand awareness and reputation is a goal, include that in your metrics too.

There are so many inbound marketing terms out there. Some of them don’t really matter, but some will help you to get the best strategy ahead and communicate properly with your marketing team or agency. If you need further assistance, just contact SiliconCloud for help and advice.
