Keep your landing page simple

Ever been directed to a page so messy that you couldn’t even tell what its purpose was? This tactic generally doesn’t work. In b2b especially, browsers are trying to make quick evaluative decisions on purchases and deals, and don’t want to have to wade through mess to get what they want.

Your landing page needs to very focused and simple. Face it: it’s hard work staring at a screen and trying to digest tons of information. Help your visitor by offering a CTA quickly and offering a reason to follow through. Convince them to take the action you want them to take in the minimum amount of time.

Does your visitor know who you are?

Most website visitors have clicked on an advert or organic search result, or perhaps a newsletter. They’re being transported from a completely different website or medium to a new one, so it will be alien to them. State who you are at the top of the landing page, and what you do. Make sure they know they’ve come to the right place.
