Is Your Blog Social Enough?

No idea if your blog is sharable? Your analytics should say it all. The best and most shareable blogs (and therefore the most social) create a lot more traffic. Take a look at your analytics right now and compare your recent blog posts. The higher the traffic, the more social that blog is likely to be.
If you feel that you’re struggling to attract high quality traffic to your blog, the good news is that you can make it better. Creating compelling, social content is not rocket science but it does require work. While working with our clients, the challenge is to keep producing consistently compelling content: we understand how hard it can be.
There are loads of strategies you can try to make your blogs more social: today we’re going to look at a couple of them.
What’s the tone?
It’s important not to keep the blog too formal (i.e… boring!) and built a good relationship with the readers. A good “rapport” will happen when there is a mutual understanding and trust between the writer and the reader. Think about social media in general: it brings people of certain interests and views together. So you need to let your readers know you’re on a similar level as them. First impressions count, so build a good and friendly relationship from the start.
Guideline: Be personal, be friendly and speak to individuals through your blog. Be direct.
Why will your readers come back? If you’re posting relevant content, they will.
You have a great relationship with your readers now, but how can you make them come back? Social blogging is about providing a continuous feed of relevant content. So, provide consistent content on your topics, and make sure they read like topics that people will actually be interested in.
Add value to the blogs to make them relevant. Offer to solve a problem. Offer them more information about something that they enjoy reading about. You’re educating your readers and rewarding your readers at the same time!
