The 10 Online Marketing Wishes Of ChristmasMerry Christmas! Have you been making your list and checking it twice? We sure have been. As we wind down for a few well-deserved days of rest with family and friends, we’re wrapping up and polishing off any loose ends we have. As a result, we’ve come up with our own checklist to check twice, and you can use it to.

Don’t forget to wrap up these loose ends before heading home for Christmas/Hanukkah/Winter Break.

Social Media Wishlist

  1. How about revamping your profiles for the New Year? Update avatars, profile pictures, etc. on every profile so show you’re on top of your social media presence from the start of 2012.
  2. Polish up your LinkedIn business profile, add more detail and fine-tune the details on your Facebook, too.
  3. Start preparing a three-month social media plan for the first 3 months of 2012. Knowing you have a full plan to return to after the winter break will make the return that much easier.
  4. Can Santa find your place? Make sure that your business is listed in the Google places and business directory.

Review The Year’s Activity

  1. Check out your analytics. View your yearly overview for Facebook analytics and find out what posts brought the most engagement. Use this to inspire your three-month plan.
  2. Google analytics has a new version. Make sure you switch to it and get familiar with it so you’re ready for next year.
  3. In analytics, check out your site’s top viewed content and plan your content for next year based on your findings. What did people like this year? Can you build on that trend?

Don’t Drop the Engagement

Just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean you should drop off the social media map.

  1. Schedule Tweets to wish your customers and clients a happy new year. Set up revised searches in your Twitter management program to monitor the discussions out there and to join in.
  2. Don’t forget to be thankful. So thank your followers, supporters and regular contributors. People like to feel appreciated.
  3. Most importantly, don’t forget the nature of Christmas: a time for giving! So offer up some last valuable content for 2011.

SiliconCloud wishes all of our clients and readers a very happy season.
