Happy New Year LinkedIn members! How about making this the year that you make LinkedIn really work for your business? Those who have engaged properly with LinkedIn to promote their businesses are reaping the benefits. However, using LinkedIn for marketing isn’t an exact science and there’s a lot of uncertainty out there.
Business blogging
Are you blogging? Time to start! Blogging is the integral part of inbound marketing, which is creating valuable content for customers and your prospects. It has been shown to provide more returns than traditional outbound marketing and advertising. When blogging you can integrate the blogs with LinkedIn and publish them straight out to the platform- this takes advantage of LinkedIn’s massive SEO power, and your blog articles are far more likely to be found here through search.
Maintain the company profile
Sprucing up your LinkedIn company profile will be of huge advantage to your SEO. Make sure not to get the professional profiles mixed up with company profiles, either. Company profile pages allow administrators to manage the content for particular products or services, so you could offer white papers or targeted landing pages, for example. The LinkedIn page can be used in promotional materials to gain visibility. And every link back adds to the SEO value of your site!
Clear out the groups
Another way to shake up your LinkedIn account is to review all of your group memberships. When we’re a member of every group under the sun, we can get a lot of email spam, so review all these memberships. There are at least 10 groups you’re probably not a regular contributor to. So cut them out and find new groups with more value where you can contribute and gain SEO traction.
Use LinkedIn company profile updates in order to be seen by the entire network. They are searchable by Google too! This is a great way to gain SEO traction and build brand awareness.
Ever find that LinkedIn is down when you need to network? If you’re a person who relies on LinkedIn for communication with your network than it’s a good idea to export all of your contacts regularly to a CSV file. That way, if the network goes down you won’t be left without every contact.
